* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ANNOUNCING: The DragonQuest Newsletter * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is an open invitation for you to subscribe to an online 'Net newsletter dedicated to (the late) SPI's DragonQuest fantasy role- playing game. At this point there is no format, no direction, not much at all behind this other than a common interest in sharing information, "house rules," adventures, etc. pertaining to DragonQuest. Although there is no specified format for this to work in, I think ideally it should be a monthly production. As questions arise, we can make judgments about the direction for this newsletter to go in. Your opinions and feedback will be important in helping to determine the content and direction of this newsletter. In fact, we'll start things off with a call for suggestions for the name of this newsletter. Send your suggestion to: psproefr@miamiu.acs.muohio.edu (Editor/Instigator) or dnadler@wtcpost.daytonoh.ncr.com (Distribution Coordinator) Please pass word along to other DQ players you know. There aren't too many of us out there any more, and the broader a base we can establish, the better it will be for everyone. This is also a call for material. Anything DQ related: new spells, magic items, your "house rules," new creatures, adventure ideas (but for right now, please hold off on full blown adventures) or anything else that would be of interest to a DQ audience. Thanks, and look for a February start for the first issue of the newsletter. ADMINISTRIVIA The above was all wonderfully scribed by Phil. As the newsletter administrator, I'll be using this section to let you know of boring administrative stuff, for example: If you receive this message from dnadler@wtcpost.daytonoh.ncr.com (or some similar variation), you are 'subscribed' to the newsletter unless I hear otherwise. It's what direct marketing people call 'negative response'. I'm not trying to force the newsletter on people. Rather, I'm trying to avoid confusion. If you don't want future editions, please let me know. This is not a fancy automated mailing-list subscriber with ftp sites, etc., etc., etc. It's me, my ten fingers, and an e-mail distribution list. So, if you want to pass this along to someone else and they want to subscribe, simply have them drop me an e-mail with an internet address. I ain't no Internet guru, so the address should be as complete as possible. However, there is no need for specific subject lines (yet). There is nothing preventing you from having "off-line" conversations with other people whose address you may see on this list. As a fellow human being, I would like to ask that you don't use this list as a marketing tool or for commercial purposes. Likewise, following standard netiquette would be appreciated in on-line or off-line conversations. Boy, I feel like Phil and I are doing a "good cop / bad cop" routine here (me being the bad cop). Well, all I have to say in closing is "Hey, let's be careful out there." :)
